Post office building at Jefferson and Front Streets. This building, built c. 1913, was the first free-standing post office in the town and is now part of the James H. Jones Historical Park in Century. The first post office was in the commissary, across Jefferson Avenue from this building. E.A. Hauss was the first Postmaster. Miss Eva Vaughn was Postmaster for 50 years. The car pictured here was hers.
